A Conversation...
A: hi
B: hi
B: what is it?
A: haan.... what is it?
B: yes
B: it is madness
A: hmmm.... i m looking for a question...
A: what is it?
A: what is the question?
B: what is it?
A: precisely.... thats what i want to find..
B: yes
B: what is it that makes us question?
A: probably to know something we dont know
A: probably to know what we dont know
B: yes
B: but..
B: it really so happens that what we newly know, we feel we knew it after we know...
A: perhaps ...
B: so is it really new?
A: it is
B: then.. what makes us know if something is totally new? something which was totally unknown...
A: its not whether we didnt know.... its abt the novelty in expression ...
B: yes
A: transistor wasnt known till someone did it...
B: ok..
A: transistor is an expression
B: so every thing is an expression?
A: it is
A: some r natural. some have been synthesised from natural expressions.... and so on...
B: of what?
A: of ideas
B: what are ideas?
B: what is an idea?
A: hmmm.... something that is inherent to all the natural expressions?
B: umm.....?!
A: humans r nature's expressions. ideas r inherent to them. trees have ideas.... water has ideas.... air has ideas...
B: ok..
B: but...
B: what is it that is refered to as an idea?
A: idea cannot directly be referenced... it is not a first class object ;-) .... u refer to something as an idea based on its expression....
B: is it virtual?
A: virtual? what do u mean by virtual?
B: perhaps it does not exist ...
A: it does exist... just that u cannot directly refer it... cannot directly find it. and expression is a means to get to an idea....
A: i guess one should do it.... getting back from an expression to an idea.....
B: meaning...?
A: see.... a person gets some idea... i said it is inherent.... nobody knows why we get ideas (this is what Prof. Srinath wonders about)....
A: there is a thought process that occurs in the light of that idea.... it is a process of trying to understand the idea... evaluating it... refining it... nourishing it.....
A: then u look for means to express it... the culmination of this process is an expression...
A: it could be in terms of words.... materials.....
A: r u there?
B: yes
silence....silence....silence.....
A: did u get my messages?
B: yes
B: vichara madlikkattani (I am thinking)
A: hmmmm
A: enato? (What happened?)
B: umm
A: enare helallo... (Say something...)
silence....
A: ok.... let me say something...
A: that helps in getting to the root of that idea....
A: that establishes a 'sahanubhooti' with the person (or in generic terms, a natural expression... be it human... be it water.... air... )
B: ok
A: how do i translate 'sahanubhooti' in english? i don't really know.....
A: this is the problem even Milan Kundera (a czeck author) faced....
B: ok..
A: he finally choses 'affectation'
A: u get affected ... its not sympathy....
A: enato.....
A: it is just that u have to feel what the source of the idea has felt.... u have to get that 'anubhooti'
B: what is the source of idea
A: the natural expression
silence...
B: natural exp is again an effect of natural idea right?
Well.... The conversation was not supposed to end here. But I guess, one of the guys had to logoff. I am hoping that they talk more... and give out something that makes more sense.
