Serendipity

We all know what serendipity is. It's a natural talent to make lucky accidental discoveries. I found a nice little definttion for the word [via - Physics Musings].
Serendipity is looking for a needle in a haystack and finding the Farmer's Daughter.

Nice. Read this little story about the origin of the word. And read this post on Physics Musings about a few serendipitous discoveries whose importance was realised only later. Some of them went on to win Nobel prizes.
