'The Process' and some corporate bashing

A friend of mine, who works in the industry, told that he was coding something that has been set on an impossible deadline, and he does not even have a design document! He said, "These chaps have committed a very impossible release date to the marketing team, and now we have to make it possible!". He then added, "if there's one thing missing in ##place your favorite company here## ...it's a process. They gather requirements from all over, and set some date they like. Then they start thinking about design and all. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a design here!". I found it extremely amusing. I don't know what was more funny, the fact, or the way he was stating it.
