Conversation Galante

She forces me to think about this. Of course, I am not comparing her to the woman in that poem because she is different and is very dear to me. That way, I consider myself fortunate than Tom. Nonetheless, I switch to a mode in which I start thinking, and not without reason ...

The other day, I was sitting on the lawn with her, drinking coffee and talking about dreams and memories (like Tom says, “mixing memory and desire”). She was looking at the sky and beamingly said, “Look at the sky...”. I look up and find that the sky was indeed looking beautiful. Before I even think of coming up with an appropriate statement with profound and tangible poetic value to annotate the sight that I just beheld (aachh.. regard my language...!!), she uttered, “I feel I should go and play there!”. I look at her with a little frown and think of saying something, at which moment she exclaims for the second time, “It's looking like alps ...”. I just manage to say, “Er.. well... The Alps?!...”. She immediately says, “Naah... Alps is green..” I stare at her for a moment, take a couple of deep breaths, try to recover and manage to say, “How can you come up with something so specific and concrete for something that wonderful?” She does not understand that I code 'trivial' as 'specific and concrete', and throws a triumphant smile at me.

I have always wondered at her ability of being so specific about her dreams, memories, and specially about her wants. She is capable of coming with statements like, “I am hungry. I feel like eating hot chocolate fudge..”. I get thorughly irked, when I come across such specificicity in terms of earthly wants, at 2 o'clock in the morning when I was trying to realise god by means of getting into some of the specific details of the linux kernel. I promptly retort, “Well.. you amaze me! I can easily know when I feel hungry. Sometimes, I can also know that I want to eat something sweet. But how could you be as specific in what you want? How can you know that at this ungodly hour you feel like eating nothing else on earth but hot chocolate fudge!!”. She gives me a nasty stare, suggesting, “I know because I am not as dumb as you are, and certainly not as uninvolved in the self as you are...”. I remain silent, though I feel like crying out, “Oh no. It is I who am inane.”

Another wonderful capability that she possesses is the way she can describe anything from 'divinely wonderful' to 'absolutely mundane' in just one of the three or four words in her repertoire. “Look at the moon. It's looking fundu..”, I feel like screaming at the moon and asking him to get lost. I can sense nothing less than blasphemy when she says, “It's so cute...”, when Pt. Bhimsen Joshi renders Raag Durga! For her, one of Tom's poems, which I love, is nothing more than “Cool...”! The ease with which she expresses these leaves me amazed.

Well... she makes me start exploring Thomas Stearns Eliot over and again. I do that without hesitation. But just as I am undergoing a levitation due to the influence of his absolutely wonderful poetry, she promptly pulls me down and forces me to lean towards her and listen to her godly expressions, probably suggesting that Tom is not my recourse!

This great friend of mine leaves me with a glowing smile, and many a times, a mirthful laugher, nonetheless...

FUNDOO

Hey Anon... r u related to my friend in any way?

From what I have seen and felt of her, she sure is FUNDOO, COOL, CUTE or.... (Heck! I forget the last word in her repertoire..). I covenant, I am one of her many secret admirers.... Well, not anymore! I have come out in the open! Whether she describes the moon as FUNDOO or COOL or anything for that matter, it depends more on how you perceive it. It is your love for this contessa that brings a smile to your face. :-)
Well, people, please note, here, that Love need not always be connubial. Because, I apperceive that I love her too... just as I love the wordsmith of this beautiful article.

red 'adidas' shoes anyone??? ;-)

ROTFL@Red shoes. By the way, don't forget the 'neither student.. nor prof.. beech ka..' comment. And Gops, second warning.. I DON'T LIKE THAT PLAIN/WHITE/CLEAN BLOG OF YOURS...

There have been so many of these hilarious incidents. But yes, that "TA? Student nahi, Professor nahi, beech ka" thingy was the clincher. lol.

They are simple attempts to prevent your life from turning into one big helium baloon.....to remind you about the laws of gravity so that you stick to the place where we actually belong.

Hmm... u never know where u belong; U don't even know if u belong. Many a times levitation seems more natural and more magical than gravity which is absolutely mundane.
